KI - Intelligenz der Zukunft

Artificial Intelligence - Blessing or Curse

KI - Intelligenz der Zukunft

This project, I did on the FH St. Pölten. The specification was to produce a broadcast feature on any topic. In a group of eight we decided to give attention to one of the more controverse topics of our time - artificial intelligence.

We interviewed several experts with different views on the topic. We even tested the autopilot feature on a brand new Tesla Model S.

My role in this project was camera operator for the main production time. In postproduction I did the animations for the infographics.

Küchendrama

marital argument gone wrong

Küchendrama

What happens, if three interns at a film production are bored? They shoot a trashy horror film. Max flirts with Steffi and kills her out of nowhere. Part one was born.

One day Steffi approached me, concerning part two. She wanted to kill Max this time. So I came up with a story, arguably less trashy than the first one. The special part of this idea was the second level of narrative, that reveals itself after the first half. Its dark humor should make you lough like, "Haha, those film people are dying for this shit!"

This is more work-in-progress than anything. Don't judge too hard.

Schätze die Kunst

Ode to the value of arts

Schätze die Kunst

There was this competiton called Young Creatives Panther. In three days, we had to do a video on the topic the value of mental effort. So Martin Weber, my fabulous producer, and I sat down and spent like the whole three days trying to figure out how to deal with the topic. In the end we were like, "Don't we know an artist? Let's do something with David."

That's how David Leitner came into play. We filmed him preparing an exhibition, with some weird stuff cut inbetween, dramatic music and pathetic voice over - perfect. We didn't win a thing.

Health Perception Lab

corporate film for the laboratory of health and sensor technology

Health Perception Lab

At my university in Graz, there was this health perception lab. They do all kinds of stuff, studies on food, tests on babys, maybe they even raise mutated goats, I don't know. What I know is, they needed a corporate film that makes them look nice and shiny to the rest of the world.

Nice lighting, nice slider-shots, and nice grading did the trick. We even tried to make a baby stuffing into a pipe seem nice. You have no idea, it's about to be shot to the moon. We cut that part out.

Süsse Seelsorger

documentary about Konditorei Ebner

Süsse Seelsorger

The title literally says: "sweet therapist", referring to what Mrs. Ebner from Konditorei Ebner says. According to her, people don't only come to buy gingerbread and stuff, but also to spill their guts to her. Maybe not the healthiest way, but still cheaper than paying a therapist.

Did this one for my film class, together with Stefanie Brückler and Martin Haindl. Not sure if this Youtube version has grading on it, but the original seems to be buried deep down on one of my harddrives.

Diagonale

daily coverage of film festival

Diagonale

Diagonale is the film festival in Graz. Great place to find nice austrian indie stuff. Anyways, I did the daily coverage of the festival 2014 together with Maximilian Anger, Peter Lazarus, and Clara Wildberger.

It cost us a lot of sweat and sleep, but it also was a lot of fun. One could say, this was the time I learned loving the hard parts of filmmaking.
